| The ranking criteria were based on the following: | |||||||||||
| 1. Can the vignette be removed from the image while taking a photo through the spotting scope? | |||||||||||
| To date we have not found a camera with an “optical zoom” of more than 4X that has the ability to totally remove the vignette. | |||||||||||
| 2. Is the camera programmable? Can the priorities be managed by the photographer or are all the features automatic. | |||||||||||
| 3. Does the camera have a filter thread adapter? If not the camera that fits the first two criteria | |||||||||||
| would be recommend for use with the DCB or hand held for DigiScoping. | |||||||||||
| 4. Is the LCD larger than 46mm (1.8 inches) or does the screen have the ability to rotate or swivel from the camera body. | |||||||||||
| 5. Does the camera have a cable release, electronic cable release, or wireless remote for taking the photograph? | |||||||||||
| A 2 or 3 second built in self timer is not as good as a remote firing alternative. | |||||||||||
